I still can’t Remember number of Awards I have won in my career – Sarkodie

Ghanaian sensational rapper Sarkodie, Known in real life as Michael Owusu Addo, boss of the Sarkcess Music Label, have made it known how he finds it hard to tell the exact number of Awards he has won in his Music career.

The Ghanaian rapper who had received over 92 awards with over 165 nominations including 22 Ghana Music Awards, said he could not tell the exact number of Awards he had won.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Tim Westhood TV, when he was asked how many Awards he has won, he made it known that, it was very difficult for him to tell the exact number.

He said, ” I only get updates about the number of Awards I have won through my Twitter fans Page, and that’s where i get to know the exact number of Awards won”, he said.

Sarkodie who released his maiden Maakye Album, was able to bag 3 awards at 4syte TV music video awards and Ghana Music Award. His Maakye album also got him a nomination at 2010 MTV Africa music Awards. His Rapperholic Album which was his second album also got nominations from about six events which included BET Award.

Sarkodie’s third album T.M.T also attracted an award from 4Stye TV music awards in 2013 and also a nomination from the Ghana Music Awards. The “Oofeetso” hitmaker has also been awarded for the Best African Act in 2013 by the Nigerian Entertainment Awards.

Sarkodie’s “sarkology” won him several awards which included MTV music Awards, Ghana Music Award, Independent Muisc Award, 4Stye Music video award and Headies Award. In 2014, he received a nomination from BET Awards and was nominated 4 times by the World Music Aawrds in 2014.

Sarkodie also in 2013 won Best West African Act at the 2013 Caribbean American and African Nations Music Awards. Moreover, he won Best Rap Act at the 2014 African Muzik Magazine Awards. Sarkodie also won two awards for the singles “Love Rocks” and “Enemies”. Based on his consistency in Ghana music Sarkodie won artiste of the decade award in the just ended Vodafone Ghana music awards 2019.

According to him, he now has Seven albums to his credit, and he is still working out for more albums to come.
