BET Celebrates Sarkodie by sharing his video on their page to honour him

The Black Entertainment Television (BET) awards Scheme has once again praised renowned Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie, also known by his stage name as Sarkodie, who is regarded as one of Africa’s most dependable and acclaimed artists of our time.

In 2019, the legendary Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie, known with his real name as Michael Owusu Addo, added the BET “Best International Flow” award to his collection of honours.

Given that the category was new, Sarkodie was the first musician to have won it. The rapper from Tema accepted the award at the Cobb Energy Center in Atlanta during the 2019 Black Entertainment Television (BET) Hip Hop Awards.

Lil Duval, an American comedian, actor, and performer, hosted the 2019 Awards ceremony at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Georgia, United States.

Together with Martinique rapper Kalash, Sarkodie also offered a very particular message of Black Power in a freestyle that was performed on the BET microphone.

Sarkodie was nominated in the newly created category alongside six other acts: Falz (Nigeria), Ghetts (U.K), Kalash (France), Lil Simz (U.K), Nasty C (South Africa) and Tory Lanez (Canada).
