In one of the most moving tributes to Ofori Sarpong’s historic 60th birthday celebrations, Ghanaian media and business tycoon Osei Kwame Despite revealed in a heartfelt video message that everything he has become as a businessman can be traced back to his four decades of friendship with the Special Ice boss: “We have been friends for a long time, about 40 years now, and have not fought.”
Despite stated in the video, which has since gone viral online, “We have many companies together, and it is all by God’s grace that we are still together.”
He described how their friendship started modestly when he bought products from Ofori Sarpong’s mother’s store in Accra. It was a modest start that would develop into one of Ghana’s most renowned commercial alliances.
He remarked, “I cannot begin to mention the things you have done for me,” and added, “All that Despite has become today is because of you.”
He also thanked Ofori Sarpong’s wife, Serwaa, and mother, Maame Pinamang, for their contributions to maintaining their close relationship over forty years.
