Am Still working very hard to replicate Sarkodie’s long-held VGMA records – Blakk Sherif

The hottest and the amazing Ghanaian sensational new champ, widely known as Black sherif, who recently remixed his great song Second Sermon with the Grammy Award winner Burna Boy, has made it clear his dreams to replicate the same of the great success by Ghanaian heavyweight rapper Sarkodie.

Black Sherif who had already bagged 8 nominations at the 5th edition of the prestigious 3Music Awards, still have high hopes of winning it all, and also replicate same winning in the VGMA 2022 with the high hopes of replicating Sarkodie’s long-held VGMA records.

In 2010, Ghanaian rap artist Sarkodie made history when he won both the New Artist of the Year and Artist of the Year at the Vodafone Ghana Music, a record which is yet to be held since.

Speaking in an interview exclusive one on one interview with NY DJ on Y102.5FM, when asked if he can really win all his categories Nominated, Black Sherif stated saying;

“Let’s see bro. God knows what will happen but I dey trust the Blacko Tribe”

Having released a number of hit singles last year, Black Sherif has fast become the people’s favourite securing him a collaboration with Grammy award-winning star Burna Boy.

In the interview, when Black Sherif was asked about the song and how he got the opportunity to feature the Grammy Award-winning musician.

He indicated that it was Burna Boy’s team who contacted him adding that initially it was not about doing a song together but rather they called to tell him Burna Boy really likes the song.

It is was on the second time of contacting him that Burna Boy revealed his desire to feature him, and finally the legendary collaboration happened.

In 2021, Black Sherif won the Next Rated Category for the Ashanti and has gone on to prove why he merited the award.
