Following the cancellation of the highly anticipated performance by iconic Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie at the Olympic Fan Zone, social media went into overdrive.
Eagle Plug, the rapper’s agency, made the statement and claimed that the sudden cancellation was due to unresolved contractual concerns, but fans and Netizens believe differently.
Sarkodie’s Paris show was abruptly cancelled, and it is being claimed that a group of ladies orchestrated the cancellation due to his drama with leading lady Yvonne Nelson. Eagle Plug released a press release on August 9, 2024, stating that the concert was originally planned as a component of the African fan zone event at station Afrique.
In the lead-up to his now-canceled performance at the Station Afrique (Africa Fan Zone) event in Paris, Sarkodie has faced a great deal of criticism and bad luck. Sarkodie was seen getting ready to board a jet to France for the performance, defying a petition from the New Ghana Social Justice Forum that demanded his exclusion from the event on the grounds that he was endorsing misogyny and had recently gotten into a public argument with actress Yvonne Nelson.
The French Embassy explained that he was scheduled to appear at a separate cultural event that would take place in parallel with the Olympics, rather than at the opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
